Listen To Old People!

posted by admin in Uncategorized

I often find myself wrestling with the conundrum of why it is that young people are supposed to be more interesting to listen to – or at least know more about exciting stuff that should be interesting – than really, really old people are. Or at least that is what a lot of people think. Surely the older generation have had a lot of excitement themselves, haven’t they? It doesn’t get a lot more exciting than dodging land-mines and falling buildings as enemy planes bomb and cries of terror scream from around every waiting corner. That’s the stuff that young people nowadays, with their ipods and obscure knowledge of vaginal plastic surgery, would faint at the site of.

My point is that the older generation need to be listened to. Don’t just fob them off as boring and bitter about life, even if they are a bit. Think about it for a second: if there was to be a third world war now, wouldn’t you be slightly bitter about that in twenty years time? Imagine if you will, living in a world where nobody remembers that the third world war ever happened, but to you it happened yesterday…to you the memories that plague you during the night are as terrifying as they were all those years ago…

That’s why I love listening to my grandparents. They have all kinds of tales to tell which are enlightening and fantastic (even after one thousand hearings). These are things which we should listen closely to, just in case we face a war one day. We’d have wished that we’d have paid more attention to what they were saying after all…

The Terror Everyone Should Know About

posted by admin in Uncategorized

Truly, people frighten me. Normally I go most days without thinking what a miserable race us humans are, but the other week I went a whole week thinking just that.

They were slaughtering dolphins in Japan. Not just a few here and there. Every single day hundreds of dolphins swam unknowingly in to the secret un-named cove and every morning the fisher-men – if you can call them this: I have several other names for them – come and murder the dolphins using spears. There is no easy way to watch something like that: the documentary footage showed the men going in to the boats, and the next second the water was blood red.

The thing that really bothered me wasn’t the actual murdering, it was what happened immediately after…the dolphins trying desperately to flee the bay, cresting the water as the blood gushed out behind them…then finally succumbing to their injuries…

It was nothing less than truly horrific, and as if that isn’t enough, the story gets worse.

The next thing: the meat is being sold as whale meat in supermarkets in Japan. My point? The people of Japan don’t even know this is happening for the most part. It truly is disgusting on a mammoth scale.

Hopefully, in the near future, this terror will be held up to justice. In time I hope that the government will stop allowing this to happen and let the dolphins swim free as they should. We will need a lot of hope. Part of me thinks that by the time people realize that botox injections are a waste of money and killing dolphins is wrong, it will be too late. Why? Easy: there’ll be no dolphins left to help.
