Just because I work in a Bar–

–does not mean, in any circumstances that I want to sleep with you. I work in a bar in the middle of Camden, don’t get me wrong it is a great bar. We do great gigs (sometimes my band even plays there), and it is a totally happening place to be if you are in your twenties and really like rock music. If you are more into the pop scene, with the wags, and the pink clothing, and the high heels as opposed to converse. Or you are really worried about missing your next appointment at laser hair removal Sussex after a night out, then this is totally not the place for you.
Anyways, I work behind the bar, and I get a really crap wage so I pretty much have to make up the rest of it in tips. And like many other girls in many other jobs, the tips are always better if you are pretty and wearing a short skirt. Yes, I know that I am objectifying myself and my feminist mother would probably be screaming at me if she ever read this. And yes I know that I work in a bar where a lot of people come to pull someone for the evening, however, none of these things mean that I want to sleep with the people who come here.
This all came up the other day when I was waiting in line for a coffee and someone recognized me as ‘that girl from the bar’, and came up and propositioned me, in the middle of the day. Seriously? I wasn’t even wearing anything revealing, I had no idea who this guy was (he wasn’t a regular), and I wasn’t in the bar. I guess what I am trying to say to all the men out there who think they are total studs, the barmaid does not want to sleep with you, does not want you to flirt with her, and in mostly every case is never going to go home with you! Full Stop.
